About
Annie-Claude Deschênes is the vocalist and guitarist of Duchess Says, the Montreal punk rock band formed in late 2003 that describes its genre as "moog rock" and is known for large, loud and theatrical live shows. With keyboardist and guitarist Ismael Tremblay, guitarist and bassist Philippe Clément and percussionist Simon "Simon Says" Besre, the band released Anthologie des 3 Perchoirs in 2008, In a Fung Day T! in 2011 and Science Nouvelles in 2016, supported Yeah Yeah Yeahs on UK dates in 2009, and played Eurockéennes and the Osheaga Festival. Deschênes released her debut solo album, Les Manières de table, in 2024; it was longlisted for that year's Polaris Music Prize.
