About

Amira Willighagen (born 27 March 2004 in Nijmegen) is a Dutch soprano with a South African mother whose mother tongue is Afrikaans. At age nine she won the sixth season of Holland's Got Talent in 2013, singing 'O Mio Babbino Caro' in her audition, 'Ave Maria' in the semi-final and 'Nessun dorma' in the final, taking over 50% of the vote. Self-taught, she had never had a singing lesson when she first competed. André Rieu invited her to a masterclass, and she performed with his Johann Strauss Orchestra in Maastricht in 2014. She recorded her debut album Amira with the City of Prague Philharmonic and moved to South Africa in 2018.
