Amelia Day is a singer-songwriter from Sumner, Washington, raised on her parents' CD collection — Simon & Garfunkel, Queen, Creedence Clearwater Revival — before falling for the frontwomen of the 1990s; Alanis Morissette and Sheryl Crow shaped the gritty, rock-leaning textures of her newest EP, EGO TRIP. A cross-country move took her to Nashville, where she earned a college degree in English and found her feet at house shows and open mic nights. The EP's title track, "Ego Trip", written to an ex-girlfriend after a breakup, stacks alt-rock guitars, pop hooks and keyboards.
