About

Alison Moyet is an English singer-songwriter from Basildon, Essex, noted for her powerful bluesy contralto voice. She came to prominence as a member of the synth-pop duo Yazoo, formed in 1982 with Vince Clarke, whose hits included "Only You", "Don't Go" and "Situation". After Clarke disbanded Yazoo in 1983 she began her solo career: her debut album Alf reached No. 1 in the UK Albums Chart, and "That Ole Devil Called Love" climbed to No. 2 on the UK singles chart, with further hits including "All Cried Out", "Is This Love?" and "Love Letters". Her later albums include Hometime, The Minutes, Other and Key (2024). Her autumn 2026 tour of Europe, the UK and Ireland has a setlist of Yazoo songs along with The Minutes and Other.
