Afroman

Afroman is the stage name of Joseph Edgar Foreman, an American rapper and singer born in Los Angeles in 1974. Working in a comic, laid-back strain of hip-hop, he broke through with 2000's "Because I Got High," a novelty smash that earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance in 2002 and turned up in films including Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Albums such as The Good Times (2001) followed, and he kept releasing music into the 2020s with Lemon Pound Cake (2022). A fixture of festival bills over the years, Afroman remains a draw on the live circuit, where audiences still turn out to hear the singalong hit that made his name.
