Rakim Athelston Mayers, born on 3 October 1988 and known as ASAP Rocky, stylised A$AP Rocky, is an American rapper, record producer, actor, fashion designer and model. Born and raised in Harlem, he began as a member of the hip hop collective ASAP Mob and took his name from it. His single "Peso" leaked online in August 2011 and was on the radio within weeks, pulling cloud rap into the mainstream; he signed to Polo Grounds Music, an RCA imprint, that October and released the mixtape Live. Love. A$AP. His debut album Long. Live. A$AP entered the Billboard 200 at number one in 2013 and went double platinum, and At. Long. Last. A$AP topped the chart again in 2015.
